Privacy
This site uses no cookies, no third-party trackers, and makes no third-party requests. Fonts are self-hosted. It keeps a simple, privacy-first measure of how essays are read, described below.
What gets stored, and when
Only what you actively submit. A private reply stores your message, the essay it belongs to, and the name and email you optionally provide. I use it for one thing: reading it and, if you left an email, answering you. Nothing is published. A subscription stores your email address, used only to send new essays and nothing else.
To limit spam, submissions also store a salted hash of your IP address for rate limiting. The address itself is not stored and cannot be recovered from the hash.
Reading analytics
I keep a lightweight, first-party measure of how essays land: how far down a page readers scroll and how long they actively spend (and, where an essay offers a narrated version, whether it is played and how far the listening gets), plus a coarse source (for example, whether you came from LinkedIn or a search engine), your country, and your device type. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, keeps no names and no full IP addresses, uses no third party, and never identifies individuals. It also honours the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals: if either is on, nothing about your visit is recorded.

Deletion
Write to me on LinkedIn or reply to any essay email, and I will delete your data. Unsubscribing works the same way until proper one-click unsubscribe ships with the first mailing.
